Up and coming playwright France-Luce Benson, who is having some plays produced in off, off Broadway theater settings this fall will present readings of her plays: Silence of the Mambo and Da Beat Trap respectively about Haiti on the eve of the fall of the Duvalier dictatorship and a one woman show about one night club, five women, one beat.

Actress Tessa Martin will perform CaribBeing, a solo performance about Caribbean life and society. Maria Cabrera, Sirens Project coordinator and frequent presenter of staged readings at Logos, will present a one-woman show, Creating Joan about the performer’s journey to France to research the life of Joan of Arc, and the play Susan, John and Me about teenagers Mercedes and Susan preparing for a radio contest, they hope to win to visit Liverpool, the birthplace of the Beatles.
