CUNY’s Guide to Financial Aid

Here are some of the programs highlighted in You Can Afford College Now, the City University of New York’s (CUNY) new guide to scholarships, grants and financial aid.

The Tuition Assistance Program: Funded by the State of New York, these benefits are based on financial need. CUNY students will be receiving more than $130 million this year.

Pell Grants: Federally funded grants provide students with cash for educational-related expenses. Beginning this year, the maximum annual award of $3,300 will increase to $3,750.

The City University Honors College—
University Scholars Program:
This newly-inaugurated program provides a full scholarship, laptop computer, internships, stipends and other opportunities to highly motivated students.

The New York City Council Academic Scholarship: These scholarships that were established by the NYC Council in 1997 provide $1,450 per year for CUNY students with a B average or better.

For more information about these and other scholarships and to see a copy of the guide visit www.cuny.edu/financialaid or call 212-794-5317.
