Grants Offered by Finch College

The majority of people today find it increasingly difficult to keep up with the cost of education. At Finch College, the Alumnae Association Foundation has taken great strides in ameliorating the situation through the generosity of its members and friends.

A one-time $1,500 grant will be awarded to the most eligible participant for the purpose of graduate study or training at an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States. This grant will be awarded to eligible women graduates of an accredited college or university without restrictions or limitations based upon race, ethnicity or the employment status of the prospective student. Each applicant must submit a letter of no more than 1,000 words that explains how the grant would be used and why it is needed, along with a current curriculum vitae, college transcript(s), two letters of recommendation, and the address, telephone number, and name of all college and universities attended, including attendance dates and degree(s) received. All applications must be completed by February 15, 2003.

The Foundation’s Education Committee will evaluate all applications on the basis of need, qualifications, and the extent to which the grant will be used effectively. Each recipient will be required to furnish a quarterly report evidencing that the grant was or is being used for the purpose approved by the Board of Trustees. The winner will be notified by April 1, 2003. Applications should be submitted to: Education Committee, Finch College Alumnae Association Foundation, Law Offices of Barbara Katsos, 777 Third Avenue, New York, New York 10017.#
